During this time the United States had acquired more
territories through the Louisiana Purchase.
People were planning to expand westward. During this time cultures from
territories alongside the Atlantic coast were now spreading to the Old
Northwest and Old Southwest areas. At
this time they were starting to establish their identity as a nation but
different views on industrialization and slavery also showed division among
citizens.
