Songhai reached the height of its power under the rule of Muhammad Ture, also known as Askia Muhammad I or Askia the Great. He made Songhai Empire as the largest empire in the history of West Africa. He created policies that resulted in improving the expansion of trade with Europe and Asia, establishing Islam as a part of his empire, and improving the system of education on his empire.
