As gas particles are in constant motion, it exhibit perfect elastic collisions with other particles and travel in straight line in complicated paths. According to Kinetic Molecular Theory, gas is modeled as a collection of gas particles that are colliding frequently with one another and with the walls of the container but no energy is lost during the collision.
