The
tenement was primarily a result of the density of the population in New York
and the Tenement House Commission. New York was ranked the most densely
populated city in U.S. and in the planet. There is a concern for those who are
living in the slums. Therefore, they organized the Tenement House Commission to
work on this issue and promote public awareness.
