Hi there!
In order to solve for y, we need to divide each side by -5/4.
30 ÷ -5/4
= 30 × -4/5
= -120/5
= -24
y = -24

Lets solve your equation.
30 = -5/4y
step 1: Flip Equation
-5/4y =30
Step 2: Multiply both sides by 4/(-5)
(4/-5)*(-5/4y) = (4/-5)*30
y = - 24
Answer: y = - 24
