exponetial growth is a J-shaped curve. 
logistic growth is when its limited populations exhibit.

Both growth models begin with a population that is growing at a constant rate. Logistic growth follows a period of exponential growth, as population growth slows or stops. Exponential growth is only possible when resources are unlimited. Logistic growth shows what happens when resources become scarce and population growth slows.
