Three inches of snow fell on Monday and 5 inches fell on Wednesday. Which number is the additive inverse of the amount of snow that fell?

The additive inverse of something is just what the certain number needs to equal 0. In this case 3+5=8 inches total. In order to get 8 inches to 0 you need to add -8 to 8. So the additive inverse is -8 inches (Always remember your units, in this case inches) Hope this helped :)
