The formula is Na₂SO₄

The symbol for a sodium ion is Na⁺. The formula for a sulfate ion is SO₄²⁻.

You need two Na⁺ ions to balance the charge on one SO₄²⁻ ion.

The formula must be Na₂SO₄.
