What was the fist ship being capable of crossing the atlantic

I don't think there was a one ship that was capable of this: for a long time people were using ships with sails and those were capable to cross the Atlantic already in prehistoric times probably (For example, Vikings reached America in 10th century!).


The first steamship is known however: SS Savanah.
