Width (W)=?
Length(L)=6W
Perimeter (P)= 126cm

P=2L +2W
126=2 (6W)+2W
126=12W+2W
126=14W
126/14=14W/14
9=W
L=6W=6 (9)=54
Area (A)=LxW
A=(54)(9)=486cm^2

The area of the rectangle is  567 cm².

What are the dimensions of the rectangle?

  • Length = 6w
  • Width = w

Perimeter = 2(6w + w) = 126

6w + w = 126/2

7w = 63

w = 9 cm

Length = 6 x 9 = 63

What is the area of the rectangle?

Area = length x width

63 x 9 = 567 cm²
