The area of the brain is called AMYGDALA. 
Each individual has two amygdala, one each located at each side of the brain. This part of the brain is responsible for emotions, memory and survival instincts. The amygdala area of the brain light up anytime one feels a strong emotion. The amygdala is considered to be part of the brain limbic system.
