The mental processing of sensory information is called PERCEPTION.
Perception is the process by which the brain organizes and interprets sensory information which allow it to transform the information into meaningful events.
The information sent to the brain has to be analysed and interpreted through the process of perception before the brain can send out the correct signals to the appropriate locations.
