If one of oscar's trucks did run over mr. melnick's dog would oscar (or his store) be liable for the damages?

Oscar would still be liable of the damages because even though he is not the one who run over the dog, it is still his truck and he is still liable of the charges for the truck is owned by him, therefore, he is considered to be liable of the damages in running over Mr. Melnick’s dog.
