The balanced equation for the reaction is:

Mg(OH)2+ 2 HCl -------> MgCl2 + 2 H2O

So, when magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2) reacts with hydrochloric acid (HCl), magnesium chloride salt is formed.
