Tim is trying to factor y2-8y+15 . He has determined that one factor is (y – 3). What is the other factor?

Factoring this required 2 factors....so when you do the FOIL method it equals with your original problem...

(y -3)(y-5) is the answer...checking it:

y2 -5y - 3y +15
y2 - 85 + 14
