The pineal gland is a pea-shaped small gland located deep in the center of the brain. Some hormones like melatonin are regulated by the pineal gland. It plays role in maintaining body clock that is sleep patterns which are also known as circadian rhythms. The female hormone levels are also regulated by the pineal gland. This effects fertility and the menstrual cycle.
