The study of cognitive dissonance by Carlsmith has paved the way for the establishment of Daryl Bem's self-perception theory. In addition, the psychological theory has developed the concept of using force in complying dissonance. The theory also aims to develop the natural cause of counterintuitive in the mental behaviour.
