1/7 * 4/5 = 4/35

Just multiply the numerators and the denominators as you would in an equation/expression.

1*4 = 4
7*5 = 35

when fractions have uncommon denominators, you find the LCM (least common ultiple:
7 and 5 have themultiple 35 in common so we use that as our denominator while multiplying.
