longitude and latitude help us pinpoint certain locations or airplanes, boats or lost people. so it is a very helpful tracking system for everyone. even you GPS uses it and so do radars, air traffic control (ECT.)

it helps us because we can easily find where countries are located on a map. As long as you know how to read coordinates you can locate them.
