Answer

A farmer's location affected the type of crops he or she could grow, and each crop required a different level of labor. But that wasn't the only part- slaves as an export began to become more valuable over time when more people started to buy them. After all- labour that you only pay once for,  that you can sell. By increasing the price slave-sellers got more profit from selling slaves.
