A rectangle has an area of 40 square units. The width of the rectangle is (n+3) and the height is n. Find the value of n.

Answer:

(n+3) × n =40

n^2 + 3n =40

n^2 + 3n - 40=0

(n+8)(n-5)=0

n=-8 or n=5
