-2x + 6 + 4x = -12

-2x+6+4x=-12
combine like terms
2x+6=-12
subtract 6 from both sides
2x+6-6=-12-6
simplify
2x=-18
divide both sides of the equation
2x/2= -18/2
simplify
x=-9
