f(x)= -1/2(1-x)^2

replacing x with -5 since -5 was given as the function

f(-5)=-1/2(1-5)^2

according to bodmas we solve what is in the bracket first

f(-5)=-1/2(-4)^2

f(-5)=-1/2(16)

-1/2*16/1

-16/2=-8
