a compound inequality is a combination of two inequality functions that represent the same value.
eg;
[tex]x \geqslant - 1[/tex]
and
[tex]6 \leqslant x[/tex]
combining them gives
[tex] - 1 \leqslant x \geqslant 6[/tex]
above is a compound inequality.
