Q is the midpoint of PR. If QR = 3x and PR = 4x + 2, what is PR?

Since Q is the midpoint of PR, PQ = QR = PR/2

Now, plug in.

3x = (4x + 2)/2

3x = 2x + 1

x = 1

PR = 4x + 2, so PR = 4(1) + 2, so PR = 6.
