osmosis is responsible for the ability of plants roots to draw water from the soil.

Explanation: osmosis is simpliy the ability of a water to pass thourgh a semipermiable membrane from a region of low concentration to a regin of high concentration, so plants concentrates solutes in their root cells by active transport and water enters the roots though osmosis. Osmosis is also responsible for movement of gurd cells.
