What is the x value in the soulution to this system of linear equation 2x-y=11 x+3y=-5

Answer:x=7

Step-by-step explanation:

2x-y=11  equation1

x+3y=-5  equation2

multiplying equation 2 by 2 in order to cancel x

2(x+3y=-5)

2x+6y=-10   equation 3

subtacting equation 1 and 3

2x-2x-y-6y=11-(-10)

-7y=21

y=-3

put the value of y in equation 1 to find the value of x

2x-(-3)=11

2x=11+3

2x=14

x=7
