f(x) = 4x + 3
the domain: Df = R

g(x) = -2x + 5
the domain: Dg = R

Df = Dg therefore (f · g)(x) = f(x) · g(x)

f(5) = 4 · 5 + 3 = 20 + 3 = 23
g(5) = -2 · 5 + 5 = -10 + 5 = -5

(f · g)(5) = f(5) · g(5) = 23 · (-5) = -115
