The slope of the line is -2.

Solution:

Given points are (-3, -7) and (2, -17).

Here [tex]x_1=-3, y_1=-7, x_2=2, y_2=-17[/tex]

Slope of the line:

[tex]$m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}[/tex]

[tex]$m=\frac{-17-(-7)}{2-(-3)}[/tex]

[tex]$m=\frac{-17+7}{2+3}[/tex]

[tex]$m=\frac{-10}{5}[/tex]

m = -2

The slope of the line that passes through the pair of points is -2.
