The sides of a square are two to the power of four ninths inches long. What is the area of the square?

To answer the question above, evaluate first the side of length of the sides of the square. 
 
                                    2^(4/9) = 1.36079 inches

The area of the square is calculated by squaring the measurement of the sides. 
    
                                    A = (1.36079 in)^2 = 1.8517 in^2

Thus, the area of the square is approximately 1.8517 in^2.
