Answer:

Marker proteins are proteins that are incorporated in the cell membrane of a cell and based on these marker proteins a cell is identified. These proteins are very important while considering an organ transplant. If the marker proteins of the donor organ are not similar to the marker proteins of the original organ of the patient, then the immune cells will recognize the organ as foreign and the transplant will be rejected.
