f(g(x)) just means you should go to f(x) and replace every instance of the variable x with g(x). So:

f(g(x)) = 4 - 2(x + 12)

And from here you just simplify:

f(g(x)) = 4 - 2x - 24

f(g(x)) = - 2x - 20
