Magna Carta, the charter of rights signed by King John in 1215, enabled English citizens to participate in government for the first time.
That was a tremendous step forward, taking into account the tyrant figure of King John who was following no rules let alone giving English citizens an opportunity to express their opinion about government and participate in it.
