The definition is pretty simple:

[tex] (f+g)(x) = f(x)+g(x) [/tex]

So, we only have to sum the expressions:

[tex] f(x)+g(x) = 2x+4 - \dfrac{1}{5}x-3 = \dfrac{9}{5}x+1 [/tex]
