In 1994, the U.S and international pressure including United Nations Security Council Resolution 940 persuaded military powers to step aside and let the U.S troops to unfold in Haiti. This way President Clinton fulfilled his promesed, made during his election, to Aristide to return him to Haiti. Aristide returned and completed his term.
