Explain why liquids and gases differ in density and ability to be compressed ?

gases are less dense and the molecules are farther apart which means that it can be compressed

Well, liquids are denser than gasses because gasses are NOT contained in on place. Liquids can also be compresses if it is lightly. Gasses can not be compresses unless you reverse that state that it is in to a solid or liquid.
