Acquired immunity is a subsystem of the immune system. Acquired immunity develops after the exposure of an organism to a suitable agent and antigen or being attacked by a disease causing organism. The acquired immunity is of two types i.e active immunity and passive immunity. Active immunity is the immunity developed after being exposed to an antigen and passive immunity is acquired by birth.
