I believe the answer is also: Prepared for emotional response, often negative

When a speaker is expecting negative emotional response before doing anything, there is a really high chance that the speaker would interpret even neutral comment as negative criticism. By default, this would create an illusion that their speaking performance is worse than it actually is.
