If each face is a unit square (1x1), what is the surface area of the cube ?

A cube has all edges and the same length. That means that the cube has six faces, (square) The total surface area is six times the area of one face. 
Formula: Surface Area= 6s^2
(S is the length of any edge of the cube)
Your answer then would be 6.
